LPCN 1021 is under development with Abbott Products as an oral testosterone (T) product for males that will overcome issues related to currently marketed testosterone replacement products.Testosterone levels in men decline with age, at a rate of about 1%/year beginning at about 40 years old. It is expected that greater than 90% of men on testosterone replacement therapy would prefer an oral product and that 84% of physicians would switch all of their current patients being treated for low testosterone.

Lipocine believes that the availability of an oral testosterone product will encourage more sufferers to undergo treatment and improve compliance.
